What is up with Miami Beach- Because of fiscal constraints, Miami Beach, has been closed for swimming. An environmental restoration effort is underway. During the summer season, gates will not be open on the weekend or holidays but will be open during the week.  Signs will also be installed to direct people to nearby beaches that are open. There is concern as to how this change in status will impact beach goers, the surrounding community, and the beach property itself.
