About the BQIA......In 1938, with concern over the increasing year round population and development on the peninsula, the Bowleys Quarters Improvement Association (BQIA) was incorporated by a group of property owners. Its hope was “to promote and assure consented activity in all matters pertaining to the proper development; improvement; and maintenance of that portion of Baltimore County known as Bowleys Quarters and vicinity thereof”. Since 1938, the BQIA has been actively addressing water and sewerage issues, population growth, zoning, development, watershed protection, Martin State Airport noise and traffic, road and drainage maintenance, public services, air and water quality, and any issues that may impact the integrity of the area. All on a volunteer basis. We invite you to join us at one of our monthly meetings and get involved in our community. | Next Meeting: October 10, 2024 @7PMIf you have driven past Martin State Airport these past several months you most likely have noticed its ongoing runway rehabilitation and enhancement. How much is involved in these improvements? What will be gained? What could be the impact of those gains? Harold Fowler, Chief of Airport Operations and Maintenance for Martin State Airport, may be able to shed some light on the subject as our October 10th speaker. He will also discuss how he and his staff have been working with BQIA to address airport noise and traffic concerns.
